Time For a Change: Home Update

I recently finished a home update project for some wonderful clients. Their home was beautiful as is but needed some changes to brighten the space and make it feel fresh.
The floors were refinished in the living/dining room area. We chose half the existing tone which turned out fabulous. Then the window treatments were created to let the light in and have privacy in the room when the shades were rolled down. The fabric chosen for the panels entailed a slight texture in a light tone complimenting the new seating furniture creating a cozy conversation area. New sconces updated the look while complimenting the existing chandelier hanging over the dining room table and a new circular mirror hung over the sideboard.
For the entry and main area, we chose a light hue to brighten up this grand space. The same tone was also used on the stair rail being the same shade as the trim which, together, with new carpet on the stairs created a fresh look.
For the en suite, I wanted to choose a warm hue mixed with terrazzo tile on the floor and porcelain marble look for the shower and wall tile. The quartz is a warm honey to go with the beautiful wood cabinetry that is the main focus in the space. We switched to a stand-alone tub creating a spa-like theme along with the thick glass shower walls. I like to mix metal finishes – chrome faucets with the simple gold vanity fixtures chosen to keep the warm glow of the tiles, quartz and cabinetry. The ensuite turned out just as we envisioned.
A bonus to this project was to create a new palette on my clients’ dental office in Gateway on McCallum Road.
Working on these projects was such a great experience. The great experience came from successful results and the bonus was working with such amazing clients. It is a blessing providing services for people who are so awesome with hearts of gold.
