She’s finally here! After what felt like forever, I’m beyond excited to share the reveal of our latest reno — and this one’s extra close to home (literally, it’s mine!). This project has been a long time coming, and I wanted to stay true to the original charm of the home while giving it a fresh, elevated feel. Think: more space, bolder moments, and finally giving some of those quiet features their time to shine.

And the cherry on top? We had the absolute pleasure of working with the insanely talented Tracey Ayton @traceyaytonphotography , whose eye for detail and dreamy, editorial-style photography captured the heart of this home so beautifully. She brought it all to life in the most magical way — forever obsessed!

1️⃣ The secret to staying ahead of the style curve? She’s always shopping or browsing. Like, always. Online, in stores, at flea markets—if there’s a beautiful lamp or the perfect throw pillow out there, Alison will find it. Let’s call it “dedicated research,” okay? 😉

2️⃣ She gets so excited talking to suppliers that her words turn into a jumbled mess of “uh, you know, the thing!” Thankfully, Alissa is fluent in “Alison-speak” and steps in as her translator. It’s like charades, but with fabric swatches and a lot more enthusiasm. 😂

Our client wanted simple, traditional Christmas decor that warmed up the space while incorporating elegant reds. Knowing a bit about their family helped guide the details: we styled the tree with thistles, added a touch of nostalgia with vintage skis, and brought in a cozy alpine vibe with furs and antlers.

This is not my work, but it highlights something key we see clients forget about when styling their home. TEXTURES. Everything flat, matte, and matching creates a very stark and cold environment.

You can easily warm up a space by using texture to draw the eye around the room as seen in this concept.

A plushie rug here, woven blanket there, raw wood details and don’t forget the throw cushions! We believe playing with texture is just as fun, if not more than playing with colour. If you don’t know where to start, just ask!
